The Boudin Barndance - 1/23/2003

Well, it was steel guitar night on the Boudin Barndance this evening as we were
joined by in-studio guest Tony Palmer who is president of the Rhode Island Steel
Guitar Association (www.risga.com). Tony told us all about the association. We
sampled some tracks from a compilation of live recordings captured at the
association's jamboree last September. Tony also brought up a number of
recordings of which the 2nd half of the program was devoted to his choices (with
a thread running through each set).

The program kicked off with a number from Laura Cantrell who word has it will
appear on the Conan O'Brien program tonight. We featured the track she'll be
performing, a cover of Joe Flood's "All the Same To You." Also previewed a
couple of upcoming shows, namely the Waco Brothers who play TT the Bear's in
Cambridge next Thursday, and the Lustre Kings who headline at the Bank Street
Cafe in New London tomorrow evening. Oh yeah, also featured a few from Jason
Ringenberg who plays a house concert at yours truly's place this Saturday
