The Boudin Barndance - 1/24/2002

Another full plate on the Boudin Barndance tonight. Remembered a couple of fallen honky tonkers in Detroit C&W legend Eddie Jackson who died at the age of 75 of complications from pneumonia last week and steel guitarist Emil "Bash" Hofner who also passed away last week, and whose credits include a long time stint in his brother Adolph's various bands.

Previewed Jon Dee Graham's upcoming appearance next Thursday (1/31) at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA. Also did one of my all too infrequent 50-cents sets as I hit the gold mine in a small kind of country LP way at a local yard sale this past weekend.

Also plenty of new things getting first time spins on the Barndance tonight. These included new ones from Hank Williams III, Hank Williams Jr, Teddy Morgan & the Pistolas, and the two best of the HighTone years collections from Dale Watson and Gary Stewart. Buttshaker of the night????? Prentice Morland with a burner called "Holy Mack'rel." Now onto the goods....
