The Boudin Barndance - 2/6/2003

Whereas January was a month dominated by guests, we got back to normal this
evening for three hours of smooth sailing from the spinning perspective. It
offered the opportunity to catch up on a whole lot of new things that have been
sitting in the primed-to-play pile for 1-2 months. Hence airing for the first
time on this evening's show releases from Austin oldies Freda & the Firedogs and
Bill Neely (flat-out terrific old school Austin country!), Walter Clevenger,
Belleville, Willie Nelson early demos, Kieran Kane, Missy Roback, Tim Easton,
Bill Kirchen via the new Cracker Barrel series, and Sonny Landreth. Previewed
music from the bluegrass outfit Open Road who appear at the Narrows Center for
the Arts in Fall River, MA on Sunday evening. We remembered the day the music
died (2/3/58) with a set from Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper.
Also threw out a few Waylon tracks in advance of our WJ extravaganza on next
week's show. Buttshaker of the night???? Hands-down the Sly Fox with "4
Women"! Now onto the goods.....
