The Boudin Barndance - 3/7/2002
Man, seems as if some sort of vital cog is dropping every other week or so,
as of late. Hence what turned into the whole 2nd half of the Boudin
Barndance tonight turning into a celebration of the songs of Harlan Howard.
What was supposed to be a couple of sets turned into 4 once things got
going. Nobody's gonna fill those shoes.
A bunch more first-time spinners on the Barndance as things in the new
release world are starting to percolate. Gurf Morlix's fine new one led off
the Boudin Barndance hit parade followed by equally worthy outings from
Christy McWilson, Jim Roll, Blue Diamond Shine, Stephen Bruton, James King,
and the dose of pure Texas dancehall ala Price and Bush offered up by Dugg
Collins. Buttshaker of the night????? Can you shake it to "Tiger By the
Tail"????? Also, question of the week: What the heck ever happened to
Marty Brown???? Now onto the goods....
