The Boudin Barndance - 4/25/2002

A busy night on the Barndance made all the more anxious what with the addition
of four new CD players. Featured music from two artists who'll be in the area
on the weekend. First up was Slaid Cleaves who'll be playing shows in West
Kingston, RI and Fall River, MA on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Next up
was Karen Poston who'll be playing a house concert for yours truly on Sunday
afternoon (part of a continuing series we've been doing since December).
Celebrated Shreveport record labels and the Louisiana Hayride to kick off the
second half of the show. This was inspired by the Southern American Music
Conference happening down that way from May 2 - 5. Featured artists who were
pivotal in establishing the Hayride as well as a number of tracks from three
different Ace releases focusing on Shreveport-based RAM Records. Also a bunch
of newcomers to the Barndance fray as far as releases are concerned. These
included were new ones from Richard Kaufman, Jim Lauderdale, and The
Supersuckers. Buttshaker of the night????? Keepin' it Shreveport, we turn to
the Lonesome Drifter with "Eager Boy." Now onto the goods.....
