The Boudin Barndance - 07/10/2003

Back in the big chair tonight after one week off due to transmitter problems and
another for vacation. Lots to catch up on tonight. Previewed a couple of
upcoming shows in the area, that being Loretta Lynn who appears at the Wolf Den
at Mohegan Sun on Sunday night and Nick Curran who does a two-night stand at
Sal's R&B Club in Johnston on Monday and Tuesday night. Lots of new releases
making their Barndance debuts tonight including recordings from Pure Texas Band
fiddle man Howard Kalish, Dwight Yoakam, Big Al Downing, George Strait, Halden
Wofford & the Hi Beams, Ronny Elliot, Volume 2 of The Executioner's Last Songs,
the compilation Legends of the Surf Guitar Vol. 1, the Willie & Family Live
reissue, and a whole set devoted to the new one from Elizabeth McQueen & the
Firebrands. Buttshaker of the night????
We'll give it to Ms. McQueen and the Firebrands with "Freight Train".
BTW, next week we'll have local heroes Barn Burning in the studio to perform
