The Boudin Barndance - 7/25/2002

Too nice a night to be in a windowless room doing a radio program, but as they
say, the show must go on. Tonight's edition featured a focus set on Dale Watson
who appears all weekend at the very free Lowell Folk Festival. Also did a
couple of sets focusing on some old time and contemporary brother duets. Still
bushwhacked (and a bit hungover) from a house concert the wife & I hosted with
Porter Hall, TN on Wednesday evening, but couldn't resist playing one for their
pretty splendid recording. If they come me to your town, see them!

Also a bunch of 1st time spinners on the Barndance this evening, as usual. New
ones making the grade included Kelly Willis (single only), J-200, Domino Kings,
Ruthie Foster, Tim Carroll (yee-haw!), and a bunch of excellent Stax reissues
from the likes of Albert King, Carla Thomas, and William Bell. Buttshaker of
the night????? Roy Hall's "Don't Stop Now" slays me every time. Now onto the
goods.....
