Back in the saddle after a week off and a show which at the outset seemed very
much in jeopardy when the station appeared to go off the air at about 5:59.
After 45 minutes of dead air, the problem was traced to a popped fuse which upon
discovery was promptly popped back in and away we went. Plugged a bunch of live
shows in the area beginning with tonight's "Your Roots Are Showing" series
kickoff with Lucky 57 in the host role and all happening at The Call in
Providence. Other shows getting the Barndance plugeroo included Richard Ferreira
who performs a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday night, the Tarbox
Ramblers and Gibson Brothers who appear at the Narrows Center For the Arts in
Fall River, MA on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and Nick Curran who appears
as part of the "Texas Sizzler" on Sunday night at the Legion Post in Seekonk,
MA. Saluted new Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Carl Smith with a couple of
tunes. In addition, birthday salutes to the late Doug Sahm and Gram Parsons.
Also some new releases making their Barndance debuts tonight from Chris Mills,
Austin diva Toni Price and another from Chicago country legends The Sundowners.
