Colored Mind Drops: Favorites of 2006
Here's my favorite releases of the year as of 1/1/07, including reissues I haven't featured on the show before as well as mixes and compilations. I included some releases from 2005 and even earlier because I didn't buy them until 2006, so what the heck.
1. The Cure, Pornography (re-issue with rarities CD, Atlantic)

3. Coyle and Sharpe, These Two Men are Imposters (Sharpeworld)
4. Bedemon, Child of Darkness (Black Widow)
5. Aaron LaCrate, Science Faction: B'More Gutter Music (Breakbeat Science)
6. Jason Creep (a.k.a. "Super Creep"), 1 to 6: The First 6 Unreleased Albums
(Human Ear Music)

18. James Blackshaw, O True Believers (Important)
19. Katharsis, VVorld VVithout End (Norma Evangelium Diaboli)

Notable Printed Matter: Cormac McCarthy's The Road and Thomas Pynchon's Against the Day: Two dark conjugates, "of some daylit fiction they had flown here" to reveal "the smell and uproar of flesh learning its mortality..." Yikes. Well, what can I say, with war and Greenland melting and whatnot it was a scary year. Try to eat some good food and get plenty of sleep and sunshine, that's my take on it.
2007 will hopefully be the year I buy a robot!
