This week is Radiothon, the time when we ask our listeners for monetary support to help keep our non-commercial radio station running. This year our goal is to get and Exciter for our Transmitter. Percussion Week Vibe Night. A concert featuring the vibraphone faculty: Dave Samuels, Ed Saindon, and Victor Mendoza.

Thursday, April 3, 8:15 p.m., Remembering Max Roach
The third annual Percussion Department Award Winners Concert features fourteen of Berklee’s most recent scholarship recipients including drum set, total percussion, hand percussion, marimba, and vibraphone performers. In the spirit of this year’s theme of Percussion Days 2008, “Remembering Max Roach,” the students will be performing original works and many compositions associated with the diverse work of the legendary late Max Roach. During the concert, still photos of Max Roach will be displayed. A wide range of musical styles, including jazz, fusion, Latin, classical, and others, will be represented, with each award-winning percussion student leading or coleading an ensemble of choice. In addition to original works, compositions by such diverse composers as Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Henderson, and Wayne Shorter will be performed. This concert will also include performances by an array of exceptional student accompanists. This concert is directed by Yoron Israel, assistant chair of the Percussion Dept
