Back in the The Boudin Barndance saddle this evening after a week-plus of mucho stimulation. First & foremost, we remembered Alex Chilton who passed suddenly just a week ago with a bunch of Big Star stuff. It’s music which to this day that I never tire of listening to. Previewed a bunch of shows coming up in the area: Lucero/Glossary at Jerky’s in Providence next Thursday, Dear Tick/Those Darlins at Jerkys next Friday and Firehouse 13 next Saturday, and Li’l Mo & the Monicats who play a house concert hosted by yours truly this Saturday night. Plenty of new releases getting their 1st Barndance spin this evening. This included releases from Amy Cook, Carrie Rodriguez, Pieta Brown, Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs, David Ball, and a new Elivis Presley collection of live recordings. Buttshaker of the week???? Li’l Mo in a runaway with “Rockin’ Chair On the Moon”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
