A rainy, murky night in Southeastern New England readymade for listening to the radio and hopefully, The Boudin Barndance was the program of choice. Mixed new stuff and old this evening. Our only feature was a birthday remembrance of the late Gram Parsons (born Nov 5). We used to do a big-assed special during the first 15 years of the program, but scaled way back in recent years. Turned it up a notch this year. New albums making their Barndance debut tonight included releases from Carolina Story, Elephant Revival, Poor Old Shine, Andy Statman, Yonder Mountain String Band (EP), Paul Burch, Blue Yonder, and the new EP from Lydia Loveless. By the way, Mr. Burch with his WPA Ballclub in tow hit New England for three nights starting Monday night at Café Nine in New Haven. Tuesday night they are at the Atwood in Cambridge before closing out in Northampton, MA on Wednesday night with an appearance at The Parlour. Buttshaker of the week???? Our closeout number from Eddie G. Giles with “Go-Go Train”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods………
