Last week it creeped into the 70s and tonight in the mid-30s and we’re looking at the possibility of the white stuff here in Southeastern New England. Whoa is us! Sounds like good sitting at home listening to the radio weather to me and we aimed to please as another busy night on The Boudin Barndance. We previewed upcoming shows from Malcolm Holcombe (Saturday at Common Fence Music Series), The Spampinato Brothers (Saturday at Knickerbocker Café) and Li’l Ed & the Blues Imperials (Friday at Knickerbocker Café), celebrated a few honky tonkers’ birthdays, and remembered Gene Kurtz of “Treat Her Right” fame who passed last week. Even got into the Halloween thing a bit thanks to the recent “Zombified” release from Southern Culture On the Skids. Oh yeah, managed to debut a few records, too, including new ones from Shelby Lynne and Danny Barnes. Buttshaker of the week???? J.C. Brooks takes the tuna two weeks in a row with “Everything Will Be Fine” from his Bloodshot Records debut. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
