The first Boudin Barndance of October and there’s definitely a hint of true Fall in the air. Live shows and some birthday shout-outs filled the 1st half of the show. On the live front, previewed music from Paul Burch who plays the Narrow’s Center for the Arts (www.ncfta.org) on Friday evening and Peter Case & Jon Dee Graham who play a free show at Jake’s Bar & Grill in Providence on Wednesday night. Birthday shouts went to Larry Collins (of Collins Kids fame), Dale Watson, and Lloyd Green. Barndance 1st-timers as far as new releases go included recordings from Banf of Heathens, Greg Klyma, Sherry Austin, and Greg Gaffin. Oh yeah, how about Syd Straw who plays CBGBs on Friday night to help usher the storied venue out of existence. Buttshaker of the week????? You can shake it pretty good to Paul Burch’s “Life of a Fool”, so he takes the honors. Now onto the goods….
