The usual full plate on The Boudin Barndance this evening. We opened the show with primarily new releases during the first hour before moving into out weekly C&W segment. That was followed by a remembrance of honky tonker Vernon Oxford who passed in mid-August. It was then onto some odds & ends before closing with a blast of tunes from artists appearing at this weekend’s Rhythm & Roots Festival at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight came from Lola Kirke, Viv & Reilly, Rhiannon Giddens, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jim Lauderdale & the Po Ramblin Boys, Steep Canyon Rangers, Hiss Golden Messenger, and Florry. Buttshaker of the week???? The Leroi Brothers with “Devil Shake Woman.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
