We saluted Arhoolie Records and remembered its founder, Chris Strachwitz, on The Boudin Barndance this evening. We devoted to the entire 2nd half of the program to all things Arhoolie sampling releases from its vast catalogue. Mr Strachwitz passed away in early May at the age of 91. Devoted our first hour of mostly new releases followed by our weekly C&W segment. Albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight came from Deer Tick, Brennen Leigh, Son Volt, Jesse DeNatale, LAITH, and Bob Dylan. Buttshaker of the week???? The Maddox Brothers & Rose with “Move It On Over.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
