SEPT 7: Alt Country A to Z with a focus on the “D” artists
The 25th annual Rhythm & Roots Festival coming up on September 1-3 at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI was the principal order of business on The Boudin Barndance as we welcomed festival mentor (and former long-time WRIU Folk & Roots DJ/Director) Chuck Wentworth onto the program to talk about this year’s extravaganza. We spent the 7-9 pm segment of the show doing it playing music from many of the bands and getting the skinny (and I don’t mean Tuba Skinny!) on all things Rhythm & Roots. Always a fun time doing this show and this year’s edition was no exception. Unfortunately, due to various issues I did not log the Rhythm & Roots playlist. Singles and albums making their Barndance debut tonight came from Lindsay Lou, Margo Cilker, Durand Jones, Amanda Shires & Bobbie Nelson, Malcolm Holcombe, and Erin Viancourt .
