UPCOMING SPECIAL BOUDIN BARNDANCE SHOW INFO:
06/13/24 – Alt Country A to Z: “M”, Part 1
The first Boudin Barndance of June happened this evening and it was a playin’-the-field affair from the usual new releases the first hour (including some of the performers at our annual and sold-out Swamp Stomp fest happening June 15) to our weekly C&W set to a 2nd half mash-up of stuff. Remembered two special music people each of whom passed in the last few days in Mary Sack and Scott Cornish. Mary was a shaker and mover in the Americana community of Nashville who managed David Olney for a number of years, as well as Tommy Womack for a spell, and was instrumental in each of those artists playing our Roots Hoot House Concerts series. Scott was a passionate fan of R&R and good music who I first officially met at our Swamp Stomp fest in 2022, but had seen at various shows in the Northeast over the years. The wonder of Scott was he lived in Central New York (near Rome) and had no car, but it did not stop him from finding his way to shows via whatever means he could get there. Played some Deke Dickerson for him. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut this evening came from Swamp Stompers Jon Langford & The Bright Shiners and The Wolff Sisters as well as Jessica Pratt, The Lostines, The Felice Brothers, Melissa Carper, Jim Lauderdale, The Mavericks, Ruth Moody, and Heather Little. Buttshaker of the week???? Deke Dickerson with “It Would Be A Doggone Lie.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
