The Boudin Barndance was back in action tonight with the usual full plate. We continued our monthly salute to 20 years in the record-making business for Bloodshot Records by previewing tunes from their brand new 20-year celebratory collection called “While No One Was Looking”. Out on Tuesday, it’s a whopper and pretty darn impressive, to boot. We featured music from Chuck Prophet who appears at the Narrows Center for the Arts next Wednesday and JP Harris & The Tough Choices who play a free show at Nick-a-Nee’s in Providence tomorrow night. New releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from The New Basement Tapes, The Thompson Family, Los Straitjackets/Deke Dickerson, and the aforementioned Bloodshot compilation. Buttshaker of the week???? In honor of his Providence appearance tomorrow night, J.P. Harris with “Gear Jammin’ Daddy”. Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
