A beautiful Autumn evening here in Rhode Island. Perfect for another edition of The Boudin Barndance. Another of those mostly odds and ends Boudin Barndance shows. A few single song previews of live shows coming up this weekend – Matt the Electrician playing a house concert hosted by yours truly on Sunday, The Feelies at The Met Café in Pawtucket on Saturday, John Fullbright and Shelby Lynne at the Narrows in Fall River, and a mini Roots on the River festival preview (www.rootsontheriver.com). With the 2014 Bloodshot Records calendar somewhat as our guide, in honor of their 20th anniversary this year we continued our once monthly “Bloodshot flashback set” with notable past May releases from the label. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening were John Howie Jr & The Rosewood Bluff and Conor Oberst. Buttshaker of the week???? Tate Moore with a favorite from the Bloodshot tribute album to the late author Larry Brown and a song called “Mountain in Mississippi”. Now let’s all grab a cold one or two and get to the goods….
