A very full plate on The Boudin Barndance this evening. What with it being Halloween night, we began with a set as in the spirit as we could get. A set of honky tonk music featured a number of hard country tunes from Vernon Oxford whose Bear Family box set has just become part of the Boudin Barndance library. Stone country. Featured a set of music from Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside and Mount Moriah who play a twin bill at the Columbus Theater in Providence on Tuesday night. We remembered the legendary Memphis producer and guitarist Roland Janes, who passed away last week, with a set of music featuring him on guitar and in the producer role. Finally, we closed the show out with a set in remembrance of Lou Reed. Only a single album making its Barndance debut tonight, the new one from Shonna Tucker & Eye Candy. Buttshaker of the week???? Roland Janes, of course, with “Guitarville”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods
