After several weeks of looking back at releases from last year, the 2013 edition of The Boudin Barndance began in earnest tonight. The mix was new releases, old school C&W, a preview of Eilen Jewel’s two-night stand at the Narrows in Fall River, MA on Friday & Saturday, and some odds and ends vittles. New and recent releases that have begun to trickle in that made their Barndance debut this evening included albums from Mary Gauthier, Dale Watson & the Lonestars, Lyle Brewer, Daniel Romano, Chastity Brown, Paul Kelly, Joshua James, Aaron Neville, Spiderbags, and a retrospective of Memphis-based band The Barbaras. Buttshaker of the week???? Our first ever tie with Bodeco doing “Crazy Wild” and Spiderbags with “Simona la Ramona” dead even. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
