Mysterious white stuff coming out of the sky this evening on the way to the station. It did NOT halt The Boudin Barndance from getting into 2012, in earnest, as the new releases begin to trickle in. A whole bunch of them got their 1st time Barndance spins this evening including new ones from Jon Byrd, Darrell Scott, somewhat local hero Dave Provost, Gretchen Peters, Lincoln Durham, The Wood Brothers (belated), Adam Arcuragi, The James Low Western Front, Jason Arnold, Buck Owens (pre-Capitol collection), Kevin Gordon, Louis Johnson, Sam Llanas, and Low Cut Connie. Featured several from Kevin Gordon who plays a show at Toad in Cambridge on Friday and a house concert in Newport, RI on Saturday night. Check his web site for the scoop. We also paid our respects to the Father of the Northwest sound, Kearney Barton, who passed away at the age of 81 in Seattle on Tuesday, with tunes from The Sonics & Don & the Good Times. Buttshaker of the week???? In the spirit of the aforementioned Mr. Barton, The Sonics with “Leave My Kitten Alone”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
