A Boudin Barndance chock full of features this evening. Celebrated the birthdays of Bill Monroe (100th anniversary), Hank Williams, and George Jones during the first half of the program. Also remembered Wade Mainer who passed this week at the ripe old age of 104(!). A couple of albums in the Boudin Barndance spotlight this evening, the Bloodshot Records debut of Lydia Loveless called Indestructible Machine (big thumbs up on this one) and the new one from The Jayhawks. Oh yeah, also played a few from Scott H. Biram who plays at Jimmy’s Saloon in Newport on Saturday night. New releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from Will Hoge, Paul Kelly (greatest hits), Pieta Brown, Megafaun, Kirsten Jones, The Jayhawks, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, and a new Hank Williams collection. Buttshaker of the week???? Going back to ‘56, Don Woody banging it out with “Morse Code”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
