Possibly the prettiest day in these parts since last Fall. Hence, a good night to be in the windowless 3rd floor bunker that is the WRIU FM studio to tickle the masses with a mix of odds & sods. Such was the M.O. on The Boudin Barndance this evening. No specials, no features, no guests, just straight music. A bunch of albums making their Barndance debut on tonight’s show. They included Gillian Welch, Sunday Valley, The Bo-Keys, Peter Case, Cornell Hurd Band, Neil Young, and the new single from Wilco who were absolutely phenomenal at last weekend’s Solid Sound Festival at MassMoCA. Buttshaker of the week???? We go back to 1941 and Chicago for the record “Big Time Mama” from Champion Jack Dupree. Now let’s all grab an extra cold one and get to the goods….
