A very Pacific Northwest kind of week here in Southeastern New England, hence The Boudin Barndance doin’ its darnedest to cheer folks up. Did a big preview of the 12th annual Roots on the River Festival happening up in Bellows Falls, Vermont from June 9-12 (www.rootsontheriver.com). A great lineup, as usual, not to mention one of my favorite festivals. Intimate and fun. Also previewed Eric Lindell’s show at The Met Cafe in Pawtucket tomorrow (Friday) night. Other than that, we just mixed it up, that is until our over-air signal went dead about 10 minutes before signing off. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the 1st time included albums from Matt the Electrician, Betty Soo & Doug Cox, The Feelies, The Sweetback Sisters, and Suzy Brown. Buttshaker of the week???? Freddy King in a runaway with “The Bossa Nova Watusi Twist”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
