This evening was the 2011 WRIU Radiothon fundraiser edition of The Boudin Barndance and we tied our record for number of calls. Thank you all! Support was overwhelming and all callers will be getting our very nifty Boudin Barndance drink coasters to slip under their favorite tasty beverage. They are pretty neat looking and we thank long-time listener Paul for making it a reality. If you didn’t get to call in, you can still pledge your support for a few weeks more via our web site at www.wriu.org. We also thank the Boudin Barndance support staff, Liz, Mae, & Jimmy, for helping out on the phones and making the chore of pledging so pleasant for the callers. The golden touch once more. As for the music, it was an evening of two-song sets with lots of favorites in the mix. We did debut one new release from The Wailin’ Jennys which was also one of our premiums. Buttshaker of the week???? What with the begging for money aspect of the program, The A-Bones take the big salami with a cover of Benny Joy’s “Money, Money”.
