What with a little hot spell in these parts, the result was a studio with temps in the 90s tonight. Hotter than hell, but The Boudin Barndance went on. With Halloween around the corner, we squeezed in a few tunes for the holiday courtesy of Bobby Bare, Jr., Jackie Morningstar, and Li’l Cap’n Travis. Previewed tunes from The Stone River Boys who play a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday night. It’s the closing gig of their Northeast swing. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening included albums from Elvis Costello, Marshall Chapman, Stephanie Finch, Marti Brom (an album spotlight!), Billy Eli, Nobunny, and a 7-incher from Mirah. Buttshaker of the week???? Nobunny in a photo finish with “Ain’t It a Shame”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
One more thing….. For you Deer Tick fans out there, they are scheduled to play live next Thursday night during the 9-midnight slot on WRIU on the program following The Boudin Barndance.
