The 1st Boudin Barndance of June was heavy on the live show previews. They included Marcia Ball at The Knickerbocker Cafe in Westerly on Saturday night, Mose Allison at the narrows in Fall River on Friday night, Cary Hudson who plays a house concert hosted by yours truly here in Peace Dale on Saturday night, and a big-ass preview of the 11th annual Roots on the River Festival happening up in Bellows Falls, Vermont from June 10-13 (www.rootsontheriver.com). The latter is one of my favorite festivals each year. Intimate and fun. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening included releases from Margo Vailante, Sara Petite, Phosphorescent, Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles, and the Black Keys. Buttshaker of the week???? T-Model Ford doin’ the grind with “Where You Been”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
