Starting to feel like Terry Gross here on The Boudin Barndance what with the recent interview action. Tonight we welcomed singer/songwriter Mark Brine (www.markbrine.com) onto the program. Mark spent about an hour chatting, playing some live tunes and some from his CDs & his long-ago Diesel Only 45 RPM. Birthday remembrances went out to some country music folks in our first set before turning things over to Mr. Brine. Previewed music from Nick Lowe who plays the Narrows Center for the Arts (www.ncfta.org) in Fall River, MA next Thursday with Bill Kirchen in the opening slot. Also played one from Commander Cody who plays The Knickerbocker Cafe on Sunday evening (www.theknickerbockercafe.com). New releases receiving their inaugural spin on the Barndance included recordings from Trampled by Turtles (at NCFTA on 10/16), The Avett Brothers, AA Bondy, Boca Chica, and the aforementioned Commander Cody. Buttshaker of the week???? Kirchen takes the cake with a bit of buttshakin’ diesel sweetness with “Womb to the Tomb”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
