A full plate on the Boudin Barndance this evening. We previewed music from a couple of performers coming into the area, Lucinda Williams (Oct. 7 at Lupo’s in Providence) and The Starline Rhythm Boys (Oct. 4 for a house party hosted by yours truly for which we still have spots available!!). Also continued our plugging of the upcoming Colonel’s Super Dooper Guitar Party (www.colonelsguitarparty.com) happening October 16-18 at the German Club in Pawtucket and featuring pickers from Duke Robillard and Lester Peabody to Sean Mencher and Barbara Lynn. Should be a doozy of a weekend. Did a spotlight feature on the terrific new Big Star box set Keep An Eye On the Sky from Rhino. It is a beauty. New or recent releases making their Barndance debut tonight included recordings from Corb Lund, Malcolm Holcombe, Andrew Bird (a bit belated), Todd Adelman & the Love Handles, Chooglin’, a reissue of Barbara Lynn’s “This Is”, and the Mississippi Sheiks tribute “Things About Comin’ My Way”. Buttshaker of the week???? We keep it local with The Cobra-Matics delivering the goods on “Little Marlaina”! Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the
