Seems like weeks since we last saw the sun in these parts, but it finally burst through this afternoon. The Boudin Barndance celebrated with a mix of old and new. The main feature tonight was a preview of some of the artists appearing as part of the Ponderosa Stomp edition of Lincoln Center’s Midsummer’s Night Swing music series in N.Y.C. It happens July 16 & 17 at Damrosch Park. Check out www.lincolncenter.org for details. Played a few tunes from Hank Williams III who performs tomorrow evening at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence with Lucky Tubb and Assjack also on the bill. A bunch of releases making their Barndance debuts this evening including new ones from Daddy (big thumbs up!), Amanda Shires (also quite good), Tift Merritt, Omar Kent Dykes, The City Champs, and a new single from the Bo Keys with legendary soul songwriter Harvey Scales dong the vocals honors.
