Back in the Boudin Barndance saddle tonight after a week out due to prep for a fantastic voyage. Let’s just say this seat was better than that one. As for tonight’s Barndance agenda, it was a mix-’em-up evening of the usual potpouri. I have to say 2009 has started off with a real bang on the new release front (Heartless Bastards, Dex Romweber Duo). Albums making their Barndance debut tonight included new ones from M. Ward, Dan Auerbach, Justin Townes Earle, Gurf Morlix, San Saba County, Eric Brace & Peter Cooper, Shemekia Copeland, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin’ Malcolm, and the latest Mississippi Records compilation I Woke Up One Day in May. Buttshaker of the week???? Wortham Watts with a great slab on the D label called “Cotton Picker”! Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods……
