retrospective), Charlie Feathers, Brothers & Sisters, Ben Weaver, Jim
Stringer, and Andre Williams.
Can probably count on one finger the number of times I’ve missed a Boudin
Barndance as a result of illness, among other things, and last week was one
of them. Thanks to Granger for the fill-in. As a result, there was lots of
catching up to do this evening, particularly on the new and recent release
front. We did feature music from and give aways tickets to Bill Kirchen’s
upcoming performance next Friday, November 28, at the Bank Street Cafe in
New London, CT (www.bankstreetcafe.com). Also featured a few from local
band The Stumbleweeds who play The Crowe Bar in Coventry this evening. As
for new stuff, the latest from the Cornell Hurd Band called American
Shadows: The Songs of Moon Mullican led the charge. Other new and recent
releases receving their innaugural Barndance spin included albums from The
Dixons, Bobby Flores, Tejas Brothers, The Bouchards, Fingerpistol, Dana
Falconberry, Miss Lana Rebel , The Golden Boys, and New London heroes The
Reducers. Buttshaker of the week???? From one of a number of saucy Las
Vegas Grind compilations, Big Bo Thomas & the Arrows take the big enchilada
with “How About It, Part 1”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the
goods……
