Back in the Boudin Barndance saddle this evening after a terrific trip to
Austin for SXSW film and music. What with it about 20 degrees outside (with
wind chill) as I’m entering this, the 95-degree weather at Yard Dog just a
week ago seems like a dream. We were supposed to have Michael Weston King
on the program this evening, but car problems stranded him in White Plains.
Anyway, a good chunk of tonight’s program was inspired by seeing a number of
the artists in the playlist during the time in Austin. Releases making the
Barndance hit parade for the first time this evening included recordings
from Matthew Ryan, Kevin Gordon (7-incher), Justin Townes Earle, Demolition
String Band, The Waybacks, Mark Olson, Carlene Carter, and The Hi Risers.
