Keeping with the Boudin Barndance Thanksgiving show tradition, we did our 9th annual Doug Sahm salute on tonight’s program spending three hours giving thanks to the music of the Texas Tornado. (And three hours can’t even do it justice.) We even had a new release make it into the mix with the recently released Live from Austin,TX collection featuring a 1975 performance by Doug and band. For those who missed our annual salute, I’m hoping it will be up on our archives page in the next few weeks. Buttshaker of the night????? Our close-out number of the evening with Doug backed by the SDQ giving a down and dirty version of Andre Williams’ “Bacon Fat”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods…
