An odds and ends night on the Boudin Barndance this evening. We featured music from artists performing at the Green River Balloon Festival happening in Greenfield, MA from 19-21 July. (I was there for the premier day of the weekend, Saturday, and it was both a beautiful day and great tunes. To these ears, the best thing all day was the unsung hero of New England rock ‘n’ pop, the Ray Mason Band. If you haven’t discovered them, you need to! Check out www.raymason.com.) Also previewed music from Michael Fracasso who played a house concert on Friday evening hosted by yours truly. New stuff making the Barndance hot parade for the first time included releases from Li’l Cap’n Travis, The Dynamites, Sara Cox, and the new Chet Atkins 2-CD “essential” retrospective from Legacy Recordings. It is a darn good one! Buttshaker of the night????? The sound of Birmingham with Eddie Steele doing “Groove Me Mama” Now let’s all have a cold one and get to the goods…..
