In the Boudin Barndance spotlight this evening was a celebration of the music of the King of Bluegrass, Jimmy Martin, who passed away last weekend. As far as bluegrass goes, Martin was the tree-tops where this jock was concerned bringing an unparalleled verve and vitality to the music. A one of a kind whose resume speaks for itself.
New stuff making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included releases from Spike Priggen and one of three Davie Allan & the Arrows reissues from Sundazed Music. Buttshaker of the night???? It sure can be a bluegrass tune and Jimmy Martin takes the cake with “Freeborn Man”. Now onto the goods…..
Oops, I forget to mention that The Believers (www.believersusa.com) will be joining us live in the studio next week on the Barndance. They’ll be trekking from Cleveland to make it to the barn, so tune on in!
