A way busy night on the Boudin Barndance this evening. Began the program with a
set from Buddy Holly in remembrance of the day the music died. Gave away tix
and featured music from Neko Case who comes into the area for a show on Feb. 12
at The Roxy in Boston. Loads of releases making their Barndance debut tonight.
These included new ones from Ray Wylie Hubbard, Kelly Pardekooper, Billy Don
Burns, The Duhks, Elizabeth McQueen, Reckless Kelly, Hacienda Brothers, The
Moaners, Marianne Faithful, Karen Hudson, Michael Shelley whose latest Goodbye
Favorite may be my most favorite new thing. On the reissue front, featured new
ones from the Drive-By Truckers (Gangstabilly), Doug Sahm (Groovers Paradise),
and Willie Hightower. And even worked in one from an advance of Scott H.
Biram’s upcoming Bloodshot debut seeing he’ll be in the area in a couple of
weeks. Buttshaker of the night???? Buddy Holly, of course, with “Down The
Line”. Now onto the goods…..
