With all the 2004 recap stuff behind us, the Barndance got back to business this
week. We were in a predominantly hillbilly/country mode the first 2+ hours of
the program. Celebrated the birthday of Ray Price (Jan. 12) with a couple of
sets of his 1950s & ’60s Columbia stuff as taken from the excellent Bear Family
box set. Worked some new releases into the mix as well with 1st-time spins of
albums from Clay Dubose, Danny Santos, and The Melroys. Buttshaker of the
night????? A little bit of that hillbilly boogie courtesy of Freddie Hart with
“Juke Joint Boogie” from the recent Bear Family collection. Now onto the
