A little change of pace for a portion of The Boudin Barndance with a shift to some jazz via a focus on the recent reissue of Nina Simone’s 1959 debut album Little Girl Blue. It is truly some beautiful stuff. Prior to that, it was our usual mix of primarily new releases during the first hour followed by our weekly hillbilly set, an odds & end set, the Simone feature, and closing down in New Orleans and Louisiana. New albums and/or singles making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included music from Jeremy Pinnell, Side Pony, Pony Bradshaw, Aaron Lee Tasjan (from upcoming Neal Casal tribute), Kaley Rutledge, Tony Kamel, and Sharon Van Etten & Angel Olsen. Buttshaker of the week???? Let’s give it to Ernie K-Doe with “Make You Love Me.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
