First off, next week Thursday is Thanksgiving and we will resume our tradition of saluting the late Doug Sahm devoting the entire 2nd half of the show to his music. Mark your calendars! As for this evening, it was another busy night on The Boudin Barndance with our main focus the recent Bobby Bare Sings Shel Silverstein Plus box set from Bear Family which we featured during the final hour. Prior to that was our usual Barndance mix. New releases dominated the first hour with a set within a set featuring recent productions from our pal Eric “Roscoe” Ambel (albums from Nate Schweber, Andrew Grimm, and D.L. Marble). Following our weekly C&W set, we saluted heroes Dr. John, Jim Dickinson, and Gene Clark all of whom would have celebrated birthdays this week. New releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from Chris Stapleton, Byron Dowd, Karen Jonas, Nate Schweber, Rachel Zaragoza and the Bobby Bare collection. Buttshaker of the week???? We give it to Glenn Barber with “Don’t Worry ‘bout the Mule.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
