After a 2+ week vacation, it was back to the business of a Boudin Barndance radio show this evening. We began by catching up on some new releases followed by our weekly C&W set. We did a mini preview of this weekend’s Rhythm & Roots Festival happening locally at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI. We closed the show by remembering three music heroes of mine who passed over the last few weeks: Billy Bacon of Billy Bacon & the Forbidden Pigs fame, Donnie Fritts, and Neal Casal. Neal’s is especially painful and all I can say is support artists who make and perform music in every way you can! New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included albums from Jason Hawk Harris, These Wild Plains, Elaina King, Amy LaVere, Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors, Fruit Bats, Lisa Bastoni, Eilen Jewell, Esther Rose, Chris & Adam Carroll, Rodney Crowell, and Dalton Domino. Buttshaker of the week???? Billy Bacon & the Forbidden Pigs with “Pushin’ the Trucks.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
