Got back to the business of a regular Boudin Barndance this evening, somewhat. We did allocate the last hour to live music in the studio from Boston-based band Grain Thief who play the Wood River Inn in Richmond, RI on July 27. They picked and we chatted. We played a set of Mark Cutler tunes as this weekend is a benefit at The Met Café in Pawtucket to help raise money to defray some recent medical expenses he has incurred. It happens Saturday night and Sunday afternoon with a who’s who of R.I. performers playing Cutler tunes. We remembered the country singer & songwriter Jimmy Work of “Makin’ Believe” fame who passed just before Xmas. New and upcoming releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from The Delines, Lulu Wiles, Rebecca Loebe, Neyla Pekarek, Terry Klein, Greensky Bluegrass, Steve Gunn, and Tommy Emmanuel & John Knowles. Buttshaker of the week???? Justin Tubb with Grady Martin playing guitar on “I’m a Big Boy Now.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
