Our first Boudin Barndance of June was a playin’-the-field affair where we featured new and old stuff, saluted some birthdays (most prominently Johnny Paycheck) and remembered a departed folk hero (Patrick Sky who lived in R.I. for a time), and had a bunch of fun doing it. If you missed, check out the archive at the link above. New albums and singles making the Barndance hit parade for the first time came from Gary Louris of The Jayhawks, Molly Tuttle, Shay Martin Lovette, The Steel Woods, legendary producer David Ferguson, Vincent Neil Emerson, Cedric Burnside and the Sweet Relief tribute to Joey Spampinato of NRBQ fame. Buttshaker of the week???? Listener Glenn suggested Tony Joe White with “Bubba Jones.” We concur. Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
