Tonight marked 34 years on the air at WRIU in the Thursday evening slot, so hat’s off to me. This evening’s main feature was like many other program’s are doing, an 80th birthday salute to Bob Dylan. We spent most of the 2nd half of the program playing both Dylan music and Dylan covers (and boy is there a lot to pick from). We opened the show by shining the BB spotlight on the new album The Marfa Tapes from Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram, and Jon Randall. In between we mixed it up real good including a bluegrass-heavy C&W segment. New music making its Barndance debut tonight included singles and albums from the aforementioned Marfa Tapes, Rodney Crowell, Blue Cactus, Britton Patrick Morgan, and Reigning Sound. Buttshaker of the week???? Reigning Sound grabs the prize with “A Little More Time.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
