The Boudin Barndance has been in action at WRIU since May of 1987. It actually began as the Thursday Night Barndance until a very eventful trip to Mardi Gras in Eunice, Louisiana led by former Folk & Roots director Chuck Wentworth in February of 1988. It was there that the “Boudin” was born and here’s the video of the interview of the Lafayette television station to prove it. The birth of the Boudin Barndance begins at the 55-second mark.
