First off, tonight’s show was dedicated to friend and fan of the program, Ric Saborio, who left us too soon just before the end of 2021. His M.O. was to sit out in his vintage VW Beetle to listen in on Thursdays. How great. As for tonight’s show, we spent the first hour focusing primarily on new releases before moving into our weekly C&W segment. We offered up a set of Louisiana and Cajun music before closing out with a last hour dedicated to blues, R&B, gospel, and soul. New albums and singles making the Barndance hit parade for the first time tonight included music from The Whitmore Sisters, Julie Christensen, Anna Ash, Steve Poltz (single), Sad Daddy, Po’ Ramblin’ Boys (single), Louise Kirchen, and Loney Hutchins. Buttshaker of the week???? From 1962, B.B. King with the “Hully Gully Twist.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
