Well, the good is that contrary to what I reported last week, we will not be losing the 8-9 pm segment of long-running (since 1987!) Boudin Barndance due to student programming. At least for the time being, that is. As for tonight’s show, we stuck to our usual plan with the new stuff followed by the C&W followed by the free-ish form 2nd half of the program. During the 2nd half, we did a set in remembrance of Tom Verlaine with the focus on one of my favorite solo albums, the 1992 release Warm and Cool. New singles and albums making their Barndance debut tonight came from Wire Troop, Willie Nelson, Rattlesnake Milk, Fred Davis (reissue), Robert Forster, Sons of the East, The Cowsills, and country singer Howdy Glenn (reissue collection). Buttshaker of the week???? Birthday boy Johnny Guitar Watson with the killer tune “Sweet Lovin’ Mama.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
