Boy was it fun spinnin’ the tunes on the Boudin Barndance radio program this evening. New stuff occupied our first hour before our weekly installment of hillbilly music. We kicked off the 2nd half of the program with a birthday salute to legendary session man Charlie McCoy including all 11+ minutes of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row’ featuring Charlie on guitar. A Robbie Fulks salute followed before our pulse-generating final set inspired by everything from finally finishing Dr. John’s old memoir to the Mind Over Matter book about Fortune Records. New singles and albums making their Barndance debut this evening included stuff from Michael Beach, Fred Neil (reissue), Todd Snider, Allison Russell, Israel Nash, Geoffrey Miller, and Sturgill Simpson. Buttshaker of the week???? The Johnny Burnette Trio with Eager Beaver Baby.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
